Appellate Practice

Karen is an appellate lawyer, with experience in both State and Federal courts writing appeals and advanced motions. She has represented numerous criminal defendants in both Texas and New York in appealing their criminal convictions to the appellate courts. She has also done extensive briefing on civil matters before federal courts, and works with civil rights attorneys to strengthen their constitutional arguments. She has filed appeals out of Travis, Hays, Burnet, Comal, and Bexar Counties, addressing a wide variety of issues including statutory construction, evidentiary rulings, unlawful searches and seizures, First Amendment violations, the Confrontation Clause, and sufficiency of the evidence.
